Prayers for our daughter-in-law, and many other teachers, students and parents. She is a 4th grade teacher at Abundant Life Christian School in Madison, WI. December 16, 2024, there was a school shooting at the school, in the classroom directly across from our daughter-in-law. 3 people died, including the 15 year old shooter who took her own life. Our daughter-in-law lost a close teacher friend, a former student and 2 other former students were critically injured.
The upcoming anniversary of the shooting is going to be very difficult for everyone. Our daughter-in-law says the closer that day gets, the harder it is. They will be having a special day of school that day with lots of support from counselors and clergy. Our daughter-in-law deals with PTSD. She is stronger than we ever knew that she could be, going back to teaching after that and being very compassionate and supportive to others.
