pray for the treatments to be effective and the side effects minimal

8/14/2026

One of our Grace Members PET scan showed that his prostate cancer has spread to a few pelvic lymph nodes.  He has started hormone therapy (injections) and will have radiation starting around late October which will last for 9 weeks.  We are feeling relieved and thanking God that a plan is in place.  Please pray for the treatments to be effective and the side effects minimal.

Pray for comfort - Safe Travel - Healing

A member's daughter-in-law is feeling some better following her kidney stone procedure and bacterial infection that followed.
However, she developed severe pain in her shoulder (unrelated issue). She was diagnosed with shingles! She is on medication to ease the pain. This morning their family left for Utah to take their son to BYU, and She went along. Please pray for comfort and healing for her.

Many prayers of thanks and continued prayers for recovery

The doctor came to talk with us. Our member is doing well. The bleeding was in a high muscular area, not vascular. By the time they got in, the bleeding had stopped. The area was irrigated and there was no specific source to address/repair.
Because she is young, healthy and thin, she doesn’t have a lot of reserve which is why the blood loss affected her so quickly.
She was given an antibiotic, anti inflammatory, and needs rest.
The doctor is confident in the outcome from today. Still, she will stay overnight and have labs drawn in the morning. The doctor will see her before she is discharged.

Please pray fervently

Our member is heading to emergency. She has lost a lot of blood and her blood pressure is very low. They are working hard to stabilize her. The surgery yesterday was successful, but now she is having complications.

Prayer Update and thanks for prayers

A member of Grace has a confirmed T-11 anterior spinal fracture. That means it’s mid-back, and compressed on the side of my spine closest to my belly button. It means a brace is not advised because it can’t immobilize the actual fracture. It’s unlikely that I would be a candidate for surgery, and will have that verified later this week. Instead it’s a 3-6 month recovery with physical and weight bearing limitations as bone and soft tissue healing takes place. I’m so grateful for your ongoing prayers and am hopeful for being back to regular activities sooner rather than later.

REquest for Prayers & Good Outcome from treatments

A member wrote. Back in April, I found out that I am BRCA 1 positive. That means that I have a genetic mutation that puts me at a high risk for breast and ovarian cancer.

Following the BRCA results, my doctor scheduled a breast MRI and was about to schedule an ultrasound for my ovaries as well. I have no general health concerns and suspected that all would come back normal.

Results from my MRI revealed a 1.2 cm tumor on the chest wall of my right breast. So, the doctor scheduled a follow-up biopsy.

On Tuesday July 21, while I was in California visiting my family, I received a call with my results. I have Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, triple negative, level 3. In other words, I found out that I have breast cancer.

I met with a cancer surgeon on Tuesday, August 4, and she scheduled me for a mastectomy of my right breast on Monday, August 10.

Because I desire to have children if it is God's will, I will also undergo fertility treatment to harvest and preserve my eggs. When that process is complete, I will begin chemo and have a mastectomy of my left breast and reconstruction surgery on the same day.

As you have probably figured out, I am not an extremely private person when it comes to medical stuff. All this news that I am sharing is not a secret. You are welcome to ask me questions. I share this with you all because I know you love me and because I know that I need prayer during this difficult time. My family, and my beloved Jonathan, also need your prayer.

Please keep me in prayer. Keep us in prayer. Please don't hesitate to reach out either! I will not be able to respond to every call, text, and email, but you are welcome to contact me.

A members granddaughter has stage 4 breast cancer.  She is a mom of 3 children, under the age of six.   She has been taking treatment for over 2 years and the cancer keeps spreading.

Prayer for Healing

A members daughter-in-law was released from the hospital yesterday (Tuesday). Her fever is down, she has a kidney stent, and is still quite uncomfortable. Their church has organized a food train for the family. Prayers of thanks for some improvement. Please continue to pray for her healing and for her family.

In addition, they are preparing to take their oldest son to college at BYU, with a family trip to Bryce and Zion National Parks on the way. Those plans may have to change.

Prayer for Healing

Please pray for daughter-in-law. She had a procedure done on Wednesday at Oregon Urology to remove kidney stones. She was doing well but was hospitalized on Friday and re-admitted again on Saturday with a fever of almost 104 degrees and a lot of pain. She apparently has a bacterial infection in her bloodstream. She is on IV antibiotics and will probably be in the hospital for two more days.

Prayer for safe travel home and healing

Please pray for our member. She had a TIA on the plane flying down to California recently. There were two doctors on the plane and they had an ambulance and paramedics meet the plane when it landed in San Jose. She was checked out and had an EKG done. She is okay now, but apprehensive about flying home as she thinks it was related to stress. Please pray for an uneventful and safe trip home for her.
